Magazine Advert Analysis

For my magazine analysis I chose to analyse that Kasabian used to advertise their album "Empire" when it was released in August 2006.

The advert used the same picture as the digipak album did for the cover and therefore helps promote the album further. Readers of the magazine will instantly see the image and then be able to link it to the albumin if they see it or buy it.

The picture is meant to show the king of clubs and allow the K to also mean Kasabian. The old fashioned image positioned in the middle of the card and that it is a king relates to the name of the album.

All of the text added underneath the picture so that the image can be used to attract attention and then the text below can further inform people. The font used on the card that shows the band name is a signature font for Kasabian and the font used for the album name is old shorthand style like the old fashioned theme of the advert.

From this advert I have learnt that an advert does not need to be crammed with words and just needs to get people's attentions, be comparable to the campaign and show the information that people need to know about the digipak release
